Historical Obituary of Fannie Carithers-Dukes.
January 7, 1894 – July 17, 1978

Mrs. Fannie Carithers-Dukes was born in Jefferson, Jackson, Georgia, January 7, 1894. One of eight children.

She was reared in Jefferson, Georgia. She married Jewel Dukes, to this union eight children were born. Later they moved to Jefferson County – Birmingham, Alabama (Oxmoor area).

She joined St. Matthew A.M.E Church and served faithfully until she became ill.

She departed this life July 17, 1978, at 4:45 A.M.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, two sons, two sons-in-law, two daughters-in-law, twenty grandchildren, forty great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
