Obituary of Robert Harrison. October 9, 1917 – June 13, 2000.
The late Deacon Robert Harrison was born October 9, 1917, in Jefferson County, Alabama to the late Flecther and Jennie Harrison.
He had a stepmother, two brothers, and one sister who all preceded him in death.
During his early years he was a cement mason and did a lot of traveling during his life. Later he became a deacon in the church. He joined the Shady Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend S.D. Martin early in life. He later Married Rosa Mae Bristow. To this union three children were born.
Brother Harrison was quite helpful throughout the Sand Ridge Community and was a member and vice president of the Sand Ridge Civic League, he also worked with the CCC Camp.
He departed this life Tuesday, June 13, 2000, at Bessemer Caraway Hospital.
He leaves to cherish his memories: A loving wife, Mrs. Rosa Harrison. He leaves daughters and sons, Mrs. Jacqueline Phillips (Andrews), Ms. Robin Hayes (Demetrius), Mr. Thomas Robert Harrison (Irene), and Mr. Wendel Harrison (Janice). He also leaves two sisters-in-law; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, other step grandchildren, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
